If you’re looking for success, you better learn how to quit to win.
Quit to win?
A resounding ‘yes.’
True winners not only quit often, but they know what to quit and when to quit it.
Most losers are losers because they don’t quit. Ever.
Wait a minute, you say, what about that saying that winners never quit and quitters never win?
The saying sounds great but it doesn’t work. Think of your top three successful entrepreneurs. They people are successful because of two things. First, successful people have the grit to see things through. Second, successful people know what to quit and when to quit it.
Know this and know this well.
When you quit to win for the right reasons, you free up your time, resources, and focus for future success.
I should know as I was that kid who started his EdTech right out of school with no money, experience, or team. Failure was an everyday occurrence and success was a dream.
Did I quit when things were stressful, and I felt frustrated? Not a chance. My grit and determination kept me in the game so I could experience a 9-figure exit.
How did I quit to win and achieve a 9-figure exit?
There were five strategies that made the difference.
What are these five things? Keep reading to find out.

Had I never quit, my EdTech never would have been yet another statistic of a startup that failed.

Quit To Win So You Can Leave Nowhere Land
Nothing changes if nothing changes – Courtney Stevens
When you quit to win you leave ‘nowhere’ land and unlock your sweet success.
What is nowhere land?
Nowhere land is where entrepreneurs end up when they refuse to give up.
These entrepreneurs have grit and determination to see it through. It sounds noble until you realize these entrepreneurs are failing in every way.
Welcome to nowhere land.
Entrepreneurs tell themselves that tomorrow will be a better day.
But tomorrow is a repeat of what’s been happening for years.
Nothing.
Nowhere land is one of the classic seven stupid mistakes robbing you of enormous success.
My playbook of business success comes from the heavy lifting I’ve done in the trenches since 1995. Over the years I’ve found that if a business doesn’t make it after three years, the chances are it won’t.
And when it comes to projections, quadruple your expenses and slash your revenue by half.
A quick story.
I started my EdTech with no money, experience, or team and had a 9-figure exit.
After my EdTech I started a healthcare company with the same team as my EdTech, experience, and money.
The healthcare company zoomed to 7-figures in no time. 7-figures of losses.
What happened?
One of many examples that prove that ‘quitters never win and winners never quit’ is a lie. A big lie.
The other big lie was the one I told myself. My ego after my 9-figure exit blinded me to the healthcare company being in nowhere land.
Lesson learned.
Quit to win. All day. Every day.
But there’s a time to quit to win and most people get it wrong.
How do you get it wrong?

Don’t Confuse Stress And Frustration As An Excuse For You To Quit To Win
There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full – Henry Kissinger
Winners don’t quit to win from stress or frustration and neither should you.
Some of my biggest wins happened right after periods of high stress and frustration.
Stress and frustration make you a stronger and better entrepreneur.
What’s the difference between winners and losers?
Winners use stress and frustration like rocket fuel to take their game to the next level.
And so should you.
Welcome stress and frustration as they are your guidepost to success and friend. When you feel frustrated and stressed, ask one simple question.
Why?
When winners decide they will quit to win, they decide well in advance how and why they’ll quit.
So should you.
Stress and frustration is noise along with your journey. No more. No less.
Building my EdTech had stress and frustration which was a welcome sign.
Why?
Stress and frustration came from high growth and wanting to exceed customer expectations.
Remember, winners know when and what to quit.
Timing is everything when you quit to win.
Most entrepreneurs either never quit or quit at the wrong time.
How does this happen?
Entrepreneurs don’t do one simple thing that makes the difference to dominate and win.
What’s this one simple thing?

The Marketplace Is Talking. Are You Listening?
A winner listens, a loser just waits until it is their turn to talk – Laozi
My Rockstar entrepreneur, the marketplace is talking to Y.O.U.
Are you listening?
If you want to quit to win, you better be listening. All day. Every day.
Entrepreneurs who have a painful business death in nowhere land aren’t listening.
Had these losing entrepreneurs listened, they would have quit to win.
I put myself and my healthcare company in the company of ‘losers’ that didn’t listen.
The marketplace spoke, and I wasn’t even listening.
Instead, I believed that my experience, money, and grit would win the day.
Had I listened to the marketplace and quit to win, would I have won?
No guarantees with anything and I’ll never know.
But what I do know is that when you quit to win you free yourself up to find what works.
Know this and know this well.
Listen to the marketplace so you can quit to win. You quit what’s not working to find out what does work.
You quit to win so you can dominate and conquer your marketplace.
And it all starts by doing one simple thing.
Listen to the marketplace.
When you listen to the marketplace and quit to win, you free yourself to do the most important thing you can do.
Do you know what you free yourself up to do?
You should as your success and future depend on this. Read and prosper with the next section.
